Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme
The National Policy on Education-1986 imagined setting up of private schools, to be considered Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas that would draw out the best of country ability.
It was felt that kids with unique ability or inclination should be given occasions to advance at a quicker movement by making great quality training accessible to them regardless of their ability to pay for it. He/she is assisted at the Headquarters level by Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners. At the Regional level, he/she is assisted by the Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners.
The Samiti has established 8 Regional Offices (ROs) for the administration and monitoring of Navodaya Vidyalayas under their jurisdiction.
